The Six Things Gelagen Supports

1. Brighter, more even-looking skin

The claim most people are here for. It comes from supporting the renewal of the surface layer, not from bleaching or covering anything, which is also exactly why it takes a full turnover cycle to show up. A dull surface is usually an uneven one, and an even one reflects light rather than scattering it.

2. Skin that feels comfortable rather than tight

Tightness after washing is a barrier problem far more often than a moisturiser problem. Pantothenic acid supports the lipids that barrier is built from. This is the benefit people most often describe at around week six.

3. Stronger nails

Almost always the first visible change, and for a mundane reason: a nail grows out from its base, so new growth appears as a clean line you can literally point at. Skin never gives you that.

4. Hair that breaks less

Supporting the maintenance of normal hair. That is a different claim from regrowing hair or treating thinning, and this site is not going to blur the two.

5. Less midday shine

Vitamin B6 sits closest to the oil and hormone side of how skin behaves. Modest and gradual, and worth knowing if the T-zone is your particular complaint.

• Not a treatment for any skin condition. Not acne, not eczema, not rosacea, not psoriasis. Those need a dermatologist and often need a prescription.
• Not a collagen supplement. It contains none. The name causes the confusion and this site answers it on every page it comes up on.
• Not a replacement for sunscreen. Ultraviolet exposure causes more visible ageing than anything else, and nothing swallowed protects against it.
• Not a hair-growth treatment. Supporting normal hair is a real claim. Regrowing hair is a medical one and this is not a medical product.

What A Fair Gelagen Result Looks Like

Someone twelve weeks in who says their skin feels less tight, their nails have stopped splitting and their face looks a bit more even in photographs has described a fair result. Someone who says their pores vanished in nine days has described something that is not attributable to a vitamin.

How To Give Gelagen A Fair Test

• Take a photo on day one. Same light, same spot, same time of day, no make-up. Memory is a genuinely terrible judge of a slow change.
• Change one thing at a time. Starting a gummy, a new serum and a new cleanser in the same week tells you nothing about any of them.
• Keep wearing sunscreen. It is not a competing product, it is the other half.
